eOn Communications Announces Availability of WeLINK Conference Server

eOn Communications is pleased to announce the availability of the WeLINK Conference Server, a SIP-based conferencing application which can run stand-alone or can be loaded directly onto an existing IP Messenger Unified Communications server providing organizations with a simple consolidated solution for all their messaging, mobility, presence and conferencing needs.

The WeLINK Conference Server provides the ability to set up a meeting place for people to join in at an appointed time – a Meet-Me Conference. At the scheduled time, internal callers dial an extension number and enter the access code to join. Outside callers simply dial a predefined number and enter the access code to join. All other parties that may be in the room will hear a tone and the person’s pre-recorded name indicating a new party has joined the call. Upon leaving the conference, the person’s pre-recorded name will once again be played to alert others when someone leaves the conference.

At any given time, the system can support up to a maximum of 24 parties in a single conference and up to 48 channels in a single system, with the ability to configure unlimited private rooms. This means that a maximum of 48 people can simultaneously connect to the conference server. To increase the maximum number of channels, additional servers can be added along with additional channel resources from the switch.
