eOn Communications Announces Professional Services Unit eOn Names Cash GM of Millennium Business Unit

 

New group will provide fee-based consulting and planning services for communications system clients

 

Kennesaw, Ga., October 20, 2000 - eOn Communications Corporation(TM) (Nasdaq: EONC), a leading provider of unified voice, e-mail and Internet communications systems, announced the formation of a new professional services unit. The eOn Professional Services Unit will provide comprehensive services to clients for planning, designing, implementing and optimizing next-generation communications environments.

The Professional Services Unit will focus initially on three major customer segments: customer contact centers, enterprises and multi-tenant service providers. The services offered by the new eOn unit include development and integration of custom applications, assistance with rapid deployment of new technologies, maintenance and support for eOn systems beyond normal warranty periods, strategic communications system consulting, and project management services.

 

The unit is providing custom development services for current customers and contracting for new projects. For example, the Professional Services Unit will fulfill eOn's recently announced contract with the Federal Aviation Administration to provide logistical, training and engineering support for the eOn voice and data call routing, switching and information management systems in use at the FAA's sixty-one Automated Flight Service Stations nationwide.
