eOn Communications Corporation Schedules Fourth Quarter 2000 Earnings Release and Conference Call

(August 31, 2000) - August 31, 2000 - eOn Communications CorporationTM (Nasdaq:EONC), the leading provider of unified LinuxTM-based voice, Web and Internet communications servers, will announce financial results for its fourth quarter ended July 31, 2000, following the close of the market on Thursday, September 7, 2000.

Chairman David Lee and other officers of the Company will host a conference call at 4:45 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time that day to comment on fourth quarter results and discuss eOn’s plans for FY 2001. Shareholders and other interested parties are invited to dial 800-289-0730 beginning at 4:30 p.m. EDT. The operator will request a confirmation code, which is 663997.

The live call will also be available through a link on the Company’s Web site home page at www.eoncc.com. Internet users are requested to participate through the Web site if possible so that phone lines will be readily available those without Web access. Please log on 15 minutes in advance to download and install audio software if necessary. A replay of the call will be posted to the investor information section of the eOn Web site shortly following the call.
